NEP Cell
Overview:
An NEP Implementation Cell at SIGCE is a specialized unit responsible for executing the National Education Policy 2020 guidelines, focusing on curriculum restructuring, multidisciplinary learning, academic bank of credits, and flexible entry/exit options.
With the guidance from Academic Council and Governing Body, NEP cell is responsible for creating framework and guiding BoS and departments regarding adoption of NEP regulations as well as any State Government Resolution regarding NEP.
Functions:
- Curriculum Redesign: Developing multidisciplinary, choice based, skill-based curricula, incorporating vocational training, and implementing Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) for mobility.
- Curriculum Structure: Creating a credit distribution structure over 8 semester as well as distribution of credits for implementing wholistic curricula focusing on Program Core, Program Elective, Multi disciplinary course, Basic and Engineering Sciences, Co-Curricula and Liberal Learning, Skill based and Vocational subjects, IKS, internship etc.
- Adoption of Guidelines: Implementing key reforms such as multiple entry/exit options, academic collaboration with foreign HEIs, and enabling digital/online education.
- Awareness and Training: Conducting workshops to help faculty and students understand new pedagogical approaches, assessment systems, and academic frameworks.
- Policy Support: Bridging institutional processes with regulatory requirements from the Ministry of Education
